Addaflex-R recycled rubber and aggregate bound system povides flexible surface for seating area at council office.

    Product: Addaflex-R bespoke blend

Addagrip Terraco was invited by Peterborough City Council to install a test area of its brand new recycled rubber and aggregate surfacing product, Addaflex-R, at the Council’s premises in Peterborough.

The Council was interested in using the new recycled rubber based product with a high aggregate to rubber ratio to provide a decorative surfacing finish with porosity, flexibility and was looking to trial the product to consider use on highway maintenance schemes, highway improvement schemes and developer led highway works.

Part of the appeal of Addaflex-R was that this system can be installed with minimum digging onto a compacted MOT Type 3 base, so it was perfect for a grassed area by the car park that the Council was transforming into a seating area. A bespoke blend was created for the Council using 75% selected aggregate and 25% recycled rubber to offer a decorative, low maintenance, seamless surface ready to take the new bench.

The client was very happy with the finished result:

‘We were very pleased with the workmanship, quality of the product and the final appearance of the area. Whilst it is early day's, the product appears to be very robust and hard wearing with no picking out. It's also worth mentioning, the team laying the product were helpful, cheerful, professional, and kept the site safe, clean and tidy whilst working adjacent to a busy car park’    Peterborough City Council

Addaflex-R is available in a range of colours in a decorative 75% aggreagate blend as well as a 25% aggregate blend and is perfect for pathways, cycle tracks, woodland trails, golf courses and is also suitable for tree pits.
