Every effort has been made to ensure your Stonebound surface is of the highest quality. However, it will look better and last longer if a few simple maintenance procedures are adopted.
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE & GENERAL CLEANING for Stonebound Crystal and Stonebound Amber
General cleaning of the STONEBOUND CRYSTAL and STONEBOUND AMBER surface should be carried out using the Addagrip MC surface cleaning machine available from Addagrip Terraco Ltd or via your approved installer.
The unique Addagrip MC brush used has a patented structure that is ideal for cleaning your STONEBOUND CRYSTAL and STONEBOUND AMBER Resin Bound surface, the versatility of the Addagrip MC cleaner means you can clean not only your Resin Bound Surfacing but also pavers, natural stones, concrete and even wood decking.
You clean by just using WATER - Addagrip MC is the environmentally friendly way to clean your surfacing.
If the surface has been contaminated with chewing gum it is best removed by using a biodegradable remover such as ‘Pro 88 Gum Remover’. Oil stains should be treated and removed as soon as possible using a biodegradable ‘Oil Stain Remover’ such as ‘Pro 83 Biological Heavy Duty Floor Degreaser & Cleaner’. Rubber tyre marks can generally be removed by simply using the Addagrip MC surface cleaning machine. In some cases, silt and other surface fines may need to be removed to preserve the surface’s porosity, a commercial wet/vac or suction cleaner should be used.
The STONEBOUND CRYSTAL and STONEBOUND AMBER surfaces should be regularly cleared of leaves etc. to prevent moss growth or possible tanning staining. Most vegetation can be easily removed using an ordinary detergent and power wash/scrub. However, if this is not effective the moss or weed growth should be treated using an appropriate herbicide. Before using any chemical, please conduct a test area to ensure the colour of the STONEBOUND CRYSTAL and STONEBOUND AMBER product does not change.
The STONEBOUND CRYSTAL and STONEBOUND AMBER surfaces have been designed for normal pedestrian and vehicular traffic use, therefore protection should be provided wherever possible against abnormal usage. Abnormal usage applies to heavy objects such as skips, these should not be dragged across the surface, the STONEBOUND CRYSTAL and STONEBOUND AMBER must be protected in this instance to avoid any impact damage, staining etc.
Damaged surfaces should be repaired as soon as possible. Please contact the contractor who installed the surface.
SNOW, ICE AND FROST
Areas subject to snow, ice and frost can be treated using Rock Salt, however this may be harmful to plants and can damage surrounding metal or concrete surfaces. Excessive snow should be shoveled away using a plastic snow shovel, taking care not to damage the STONEBOUND CRYSTAL and STONEBOUND AMBER Resin Bound surfacing. Do not use a wire brush ice remover, alternative eco-friendly ice removers can be used, however a small area must be tested to ensure the STONEBOUND CRYSTAL and STONEBOUND AMBER is not damaged or weakened.
