I’m delighted to say that 2017 was another very busy year and we are hopeful that even with the challenges of Brexit, 2018 will continue to see growth. There were many highlights in 2017 some of which we have detailed here in our first newsletter of 2018.
It is a pleasure for us and our installers to be involved in such fantastic commercial and private sector projects that are being installed throughout the UK. It was also very encouraging to see an increase in the number of overseas projects last year. We are very proud to be working with our network of approved installers who continue to provide quality installations - they are a credit to the Resin Bound industry.
The last few years have certainly provided many challenges, with increased competition affecting the Resin Bound market which continues to see growth. With expansion in a market sector you do unfortunately get a rise in the number of failures caused by inferior products being installed. Although samples can look identical the actual performance can vary considerably - the old adage ‘You get what you pay for' comes to mind!
We fully appreciate that the square metre cost for Resin Bound surfaces can fluctuate considerably within the industry so please do bear in mind the above saying. If you are in any doubt or you receive a number of quotes that differ widely please do check that the Resin Bound material has been used on completed schemes that have been down for at least 5 years. It is not a guarantee but it should give you a good indication of the product's performance over time.
We are very proud to have been the first company to have gained BBA Accreditation back in 2016 for our Addaset, Addabound and Terrabound Resin Bound surfaces. This accreditation is an independent sign of quality and gives both architects and end users the confidence that they are selecting a high calibre product. We hope that other manufacturers will follow the BBA route which in our view will increase the quality of Resin Bound installations for both commercial and domestic schemes. When you specify a Resin Bound surface in 2018, please make it a BBA Accredited system.
We are always happy to talk about our Resin Bound Surfacing systems or any of our products within the Addagrip Terraco range. Please do visit our web site at www.addagrip.co.uk to see our latest project case studies and news on the range of Terraco finishing products now available.
Finally, we would like to wish you a very Happy New Year and we look forward to working with you in 2018.
