Addaset Lucerne Silver and Addaset Maple Gold
Addagrip were delighted to be able to support the RHS Kitchen Garden at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show this year with our BBA approved porous Resin Bound Addaset surfacing system.
The garden was designed by RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal winner, Juliet Sargeant, hoping to inspire visitors to grow food at home and in the community, no matter how small the space.
The garden is packed full of edible plants and ideas for growing in containers for those who do not have a garden themselves and demonstrating that a vegetable garden can be beautiful, stylish and contemporary.
Built by Sandstone Designs, the 324m2 garden features vegetables, fruit, herbs in raised beds and pots together with an aquaponics system where plants receive nourishment from fish.
The RHS and BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen teamed up to broadcast live from the RHS Kitchen Garden on Saturday 8th July and Si King and Dave Myers – The Hairy Bikers – demonstrated how to produce delicious dishes with a live broadcast on BBC One at 11am Monday 3rd to Friday 7th July, cooking in the RHS Kitchen Garden.
Addagrip were delighted to be able to help out with our BBA approved Addaset Resin Bound porous surfacing for the seating and cooking area in the garden itself and for the connecting walkway to the RHS Hub. It was essential that this area was not only aesthetically pleasing but it would be resilient to the volumes of expected foot traffic during the show and suitable for wheelchair users. Due to the daily filming, it was also important that the surface was smooth so that it could be easily trafficked by the television cameras.
An Addaset 3mm Lucerne Silver aggregate blend was used in the garden to complement the striking colours of the planting and Addaset Maple Gold blend was selected for the connecting walkway between the garden and RHS Hub.
Juliet was delighted with the finished result:
“The Addagrip looks great - your team have been really helpful - thank you all. I was thanked yesterday by a lady in a wheelchair, for making the garden so smooth and comfortable for her”
