Addagrip are delighted to have been involved in The Journey of Life show garden with our Resin Bound Terrabase Rustic surfacing at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2017.

The Bronze award winning garden, designed by Edward Mairis and built by Xardin Gardens marks the birth of new approach to garden design, poetic gardening, which aims to connect with the soul. It dares to tackle the perennial question – what is the meaning of life?

Based on the classical Asian garden, the garden uses Addagrip’s resin bound surfacing to draw you from the past and lead you to the present - an area of deep contemplation. It is minimalistic in style with its contrasting brightly coloured rainbow Perspex wall representing the boundless future and providing a backdrop to structural planting, natural aggregate paving and an island seating area.  These combined with the high-tech atrium, water areas and hydroponic salad towers contrast with the ancient olive tree and Niwaki (giant bonsai) to create a ‘Poetic Garden’ full of colour and positivity.

Addagrip were approached by Edward to help out with providing a natural looking surface that would be hard wearing but aesthetically sympathetic to the design and we were delighted to donate our Terrabase Rustic Resin Bound system in a Rustic Gold natural aggregate blend.

Looking continually to the future, Edward’s ethos is to incorporate technology within his gardens as a force for good.  Our innovative Terrabase Rustic resin bound porous system is low maintenance and can be installed without the need for a concrete or asphalt base to provide a seamless decorative surface with minimum digging.

The Journey of Life garden was officially opened by the Tai ambassador to the UK and blessed by practising Theravada Buddhist monks prior to the show opening to the public on Tuesday 4th July 2017.
