Pathways and courtyard surfacing for project in Stoke-on Trent

    Contractor: Soft Surfaces Ltd

1300m2 Terrabase Rustic - bespoke blend

Addagrip approved contractor Soft Surfaces Limited is in the process of installing a series of footpaths and courtyards using Terrabase Rustic Resin Bound surfacing at this care home in Stoke-on-Trent.

Originally specified as an 18mm Resin Bound system over asphalt, Soft Surfaces were asked by main contractor Seddon Construction to re-quote for a suitable system that could be installed directly onto a stone base without the need for asphalt. Terrabase Rustic, an innovative ‘no-dig’ product, was the perfect solution, providing a porous, hard wearing yet decorative surface which is smooth underfoot with good slip resistance as required for this project.

The client already had a colour scheme in mind for the surfaced areas consisting of a red, white and grey mix and whilst Terrabase Rustic is offered in 4 rustic colours, a bespoke blend was formulated and tested which met with the client’s approval and gives the pathways a unique finish.

This site is the third in a series of a three Care Home package of new builds that Soft Surfaces have been involved in and consists of 1,300m2 of Terrabase 30mm to the care home footpaths and two courtyards. The package for this project also included the sub-base, edging details and artificial grass which has ensured that Soft Surfaces have been able to deliver a high quality finished product for this scheme.
