  Terrabound for pedestrian area at crossing of busy junction

  Addagrip approved contractor Resin & Rock was asked at short notice to install a suitable surfacing for a tree pit scheme on the busy junction of Station Road and Elm Grove in Harrow, Middlesex.

  The requirement was for a hard wearing, decorative surface with no loose aggregate that would be porous enough for the existing mature trees but strong enough for pedestrian flows and installation of new street furniture. 

  The client selected Terrabound Resin Bound porous surfacing in a 10mm Trent aggregate blend. To ensure maximum porosity, the main contractor was asked to install a porous asphalt base onto which Resin & Rock installed the bound surface.

  Traffic management was required to undertake the work at this busy site and installation was carried out as quickly as possible to minimise disruption.

  The finished paving, together with the new street furniture, brightens up the junction providing a surface that is low maintenance and easy to clean.
