Rustic Terrabase was selected for the pathway surfacing when Matthew Keightley’s award winning ‘Hope on the Horizon’ garden featured at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2014 and designed for Help For Heroes, was recently relocated to Chavasse VC House Recovery Centre in Colchester.
Addagrip approved contractor True Grip Ltd installed Addagrip’s new innovative surfacing product, Terrabase Rustic to the footpaths in the . The new product was ideal for this project as the client required miminal groundworks and Terrabase Rustic can be installed quickly, with minimum disruption and without the need for an invasive base build up.
A 6-10mm Rustic Gold aggregate blend was selected to provide a decorative and natural rustic looking surface, with excellent drainage, to complement the design of the garden. The seamless Terrabase Rustic path links the two areas of the garden which is divided into reflective and active space to represent the complex and progressive path of recovery.
When it came to replacing existing self binding gravel pathways at a nature reserve in a residential developement in Staffordshire, the Residents Committee had been considering options to create new pathways in keeping with the rural environment yet practical for all year round visitor access.
Members of the Committee had visited the Addagrip stand at Grand Designs in October 2014 and seen the featured Terrabase Rustic path. They liked the rustic appearance of the product and were interested to learn that installation could be achieved without the need for an asphalt or concrete base, with minimal digging and without the use of heavy machinery.
The 200sqm installation of Terrabase Rustic Gold was carried out by Addagrip approved contractor Resin Bonded Surfacing over a 2 day period in November 2014, resulting in a natural rustic looking pathway which provides excellent drainage through the surface and directly into the sub base.
