Addastone TP is a resin bound system designed to provide an attractive and aesthetically pleasing porous paving for tree pits, using a variety of natural or recycled aggregates.

Available in a UV stable Polyurethane, the resin binder is mixed with our range of natural or recycled aggregate with a typical grading of 6-10mm. The open texture achieved provides a highly porous resin bound surface, allowing the tree roots access to both air and water penetration.

Suitable for decorative tree pits and tree planting areas in pavement schemes subjected to light foot traffic when installed at recommended depths.

As Addastone Tree Pit installations are installed flush with the surrounding paving areas they have the added advantage of not becoming a litter trap that can occur with traditional tree grilles.

If you are looking for a more flexible surface for pedestrian tree pit schemes, take a look at our new Addaflex-R recycled rubber and aggregate product – a suitable resin bound alternative system for Tree Pits

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s The Difference Between Resin Bound And Resin Bonded?

There are two different systems that use resin to fix gravel aggregates to create decorative surfacing. These are Resin Bound porous paving and Resin Bonded paving and whilst similar in name they have different properties, application methods and aesthetics. Resin bound surfacing consists of aggregate mixed with resin in specific blends using specific aggregate to resin ratios. The material is trowelled down to a smooth finish similar to a screed (with no loose stones). Depths are specified depending on aggregate size, normally 12mm, 16mm, 18mm or 24mm. Resin bonded surfacing is a scatter system which provides texture and the appearance of loose gravel. A layer of resin is applied to a suitable surface laid to falls and covered with loose aggregate. Once cured the remaining loose stones are removed. Thickness is governed by aggregate size. i.e. 1-3mm aggregate will have a nominal depth of 4mm.
