ADDASTONE LEADS THE WAY IN IRELAND

Addagrip’s Addastone has been used for the resurfacing of the pathways at Lloyd town park in Tullamore, in central Southern Ireland.

Designers on the project wanted a high quality and robust hard landscaping solution to withstand the trafficking not only from pedestrians but also the park’s maintenance vehicles.

On specifying Addastone, John Ward, director of landscape architects Murray & Associates said, “We have used Addagrip products on previous schemes and have always been very pleased with their performance. Addastone was ideal for this high-specification project as the neutral coloured aggregate complements the paths’ granite curbing, looking fantastic at all times of the year.”

Addastone uses a range of natural aggregates bound with high quality resin to create the appearance of loose gravel which is durable and low maintenance. This was another important consideration for the project, with John Ward continuing, “The park is in the centre of Tullamore with a constant stream of pedestrians passing through, and the paths are also used by service vehicles.”

The project’s main contractor, SAP Landscaping Ltd, surfaced 5,400m² of Addastone in total. Aaron O’Reilly, business development manager said, “We have carried out several projects across Ireland using Addastone. Addastone is hardwearing, attractive and easy to lay, giving excellent results.”

With the official opening of the park in November 2007, John Ward is delighted with the results, “The paths look stunning and our client is very pleased with the project. Importantly, the paths will require little maintenance for many years.”
