PRODUCT PROVIDES NEW LIFE
FOR HIGHWAYS AND ROADS
Since its introduction late last year, Addagrip’s New Life liquid filler has met with an excellent reception by both highways authorities and airport operators as an instant and permanent remedy to roadway surfacing problems.
As a liquid rubberised filler, New Life is simply poured into the prepared area to be repaired. The material is self-priming and self-levelling and sets in about 20 minutes and is ready for traffic after 25 to 45 minutes depending on weather conditions. It’s a cold applied patching material, which is easier, and faster to use than the usual hot asphalt methods.
Glenn Reed, an area manager with Nottinghamshire County Council has used New Life with great success as a longitudinal joint filler on a stretch of the A60. He explains, “We had a case of joint fretting between two lanes, about 250 metres in total, where New Life filler was ideal for the job. We were able to make the repair one evening with temporary traffic management. Normally, we would have had to plane the joint out, and re-lay asphalt which is very expensive and time consuming and causes a lot of disruption to traffic.” Nottinghamshire County Council as a result are now planning to use New Life for repair work around various roundabouts in the area.
In Ireland, New Life has been of great benefit in the repair of runways, aprons, taxiways and roadways at Shannon airport. Maintenance manager, Adrian Franklin comments, “ We have been very happy with New Life as a repair material particularly as we can use it on all types of surfaces, whether concrete or asphalt.” He adds, “One of its great advantages is that it’s a flexible material that takes up movements in the subsoil, is easy to install and ideal for quick repairs.”
The New Life liquid filler is thus ideal for a host of road surface repairs, such as crack repairs, kerb and edge repairs, rutted road repairs, expansion joints, taxiway and runway repairs and joint repairs on bridges. It can also be used as an emergency and permanent pothole filler and for various maintenance jobs on cycle paths, car parks and all types of iron works. New Life is supplied in 13.5 litre drums for easy dispensing.
